THE ART OF THE DEAL - The Avalon Story of how deals are found and made
Friday, October 14th, 2016 - Christine will discuss how Avalon, as a start-up independent development company without a strong balance sheet, managed to acquire real estate assets, structured deals and survived the downturn over the last 17 years. She will also provide an update of the current development activities of the company. Christine Camp is President and CEO of Avalon Development Company. Avalon is a developer, investor, owner, third-party manager, and broker of industrial parks, apartment buildings, and office and retail commercial centers focused only in Hawaii. Christine started Avalon Development as a one woman real estate consulting operation, but within three years she was able to develop her first multi-million dollar project. Today, with a team of 32, Avalon is actively developing several properties with a combined development value of approximately $350 million dollars and manages over 1 million square feet of commercial spaces and approximately 900 rental units in Hawaii. Before starting her company 17 years ago Christine worked as Vice President of Development for A&B Properties. Registration Deadline: October 10th.

Students should be aware of the State's policy on duplicate courses:
Duplicate continuing education hours. Except as provided by the commission or by this subchapter, a licensee shall not take a continuing education course that is substantially similar to a course for which the licensee has already received a certificate. A continuing education provider shall not issue to a licensee a certificate for substantially the same course completed by the licensee. "Substantially similar" as used in this section means that at minimum, seventy-five per cent of the course content of a course is repeated in another course offering.
The DCCA is enforcing this rule based on the course title. This means that you must be careful not to repeat the same course title. You cannot receive credit for a duplicate course.
